Jeffrey C. Sherman has an amazing career as a writer, producer, director and composer/lyricist for film and television. He is also the eldest son of composer Robert B. Sherman (the Sherman Brothers). The song “Spoonful of Sugar” from Mary Poppins was written after Jeff told his father about getting the Salk polio vaccine (via sugar cube) at school.  Along with his cousin, Gregg, Jeff directed and produced the 2009 Walt Disney Pictures feature documentary, “The Boys: the Sherman Brothers’ Story.” This film showcases the incredible career of the sibling songwriting team. In 2010, “The Boys” was chosen as the opening night screening at the first-ever Disney D23 Expo.

We were so very honored that Jeff took the time out of his busy schedule to speak with us on the Disney Parks Podcast. He chose our show to share some fascinating stories about his life and career, some of which have never been shared any where else before!

Jeff’s father made a sweet personal dedication of “The River Song” to Jeff at the recording session with Charley Pride.

Jimmy

Jeff wrote, produced and worked with his Dad and Uncle on one of the very first Disney Channel shows, “The Enchanted Musical Playhouse.” The Sherman Brothers wrote three of the very rarely heard original song scores and one of the scripts. Jeff wrote three of the scripts and composed one of the song scores, and produced this with Jimmy and Donny Osmond.
