Disney is expected to soon announce that their resort hotels will be charging guests for overnight vehicle parking.
The new policy would require guests to pay for overnight parking, per night, at all of the Disney owned resort hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort. Disney Vacation Club guests staying using their points would not have to pay for parking as part of a new membership perk.
Prices have not yet been revealed for the overnight parking, but it will depend on the type of resort (value, moderate, and deluxe will all have different pricing). A start date has also yet to be announced.
Valet parking prices at resorts will also be raised as part of these changes. These changes will not affect guests visiting resorts for dining, shopping, or otherwise. The paid parking is only for vehicles staying at the resorts overnight.

The immerse experience offered at this hotel will stand out among all of our resorts around the globe. As you can see, families visiting this resort will board a starship alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them during their voyage through the galaxy – and every window has a view of space!
The resort will also be seamlessly connected to the highly anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, allowing guests a complete Star Wars experience. With the recent roof refurbishment of the pavilion, we assumed that the former Wonders of Life was getting ready for another run as the Festival Center for the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival beginning next week. Apparently something bigger is planned for this space as Disney announced today that it will no longer be the Festival Center for the event as it has for over 10 years now.
Early this morning, a number of executives from the park and Walt Disney Imagineering were spotted walking into the pavilion in a large group. This coupled with the roof refurbishment and the exit of the Festival Center from the venue leads us to believe that a new attraction (or attractions) is being envisioned for the space as part of the ongoing overhaul of Epcot. What they might be (if happening), we are uncertain just yet.
The Wonders of Life pavilion closed in 2007. The Body Wars attraction was reportedly decimated during testing of the new Star Tours: The Adventures Continue and Cranium Command has been left pretty much untouched since the closure.
Stay tuned for future updates on this breaking story.
