Disneyland France — You wait for one new Disney princess meet ‘n’ greet and then two come at once. Alongside Anna and Elsa from Frozen, making their first appearance at Disneyland Paris outside of the daily parade, the upcoming Disney’s Enchanted Christmas season will also see the premiere of fiery-haired Merida from Pixar’s Brave.
Confirmed in a French press release and on the official website, the 3 princesses will make their meet ‘n’ greet debuts at the resort from 9th November 2014.

Anna and Elsa will “hold court” at the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland for the duration of the season.

In other Disney’s Enchanted Christmas news, the dazzling new Christmas Tree introduced last year will of course make a return along with the Magical Christmas Wishes illumination show and the special festive Disney Dreams! of Christmas spectacular.

Tokyo Disney Resort will begin their annual holiday celebration on November 7, with special events, entertainment and more taking place at both Tokyo Disneyland Park and Tokyo DisneySea.

At Tokyo Disneyland Park, guests will be able to enjoy Disney’s Santa Village Parade, in which Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters help Santa Claus prepare for the holiday. The park will also feature special seasonal photo locations, holiday decor and more.

At Tokyo DisneySea, guests will be able to enjoy a Colors of Christmas holiday tree display and lights around Mediterranean Harbor. Guests visiting the Lost River Delta can enjoy Fiesta de la Luz (“Festival of Lights”) – a holiday lantern display. Over at the American Waterfront, Snow Crystal Illumination will light up the area with white lights. And now some Disneyland news from Randy Crane at Faith and the magic kingdom dot com. Big opening news this week! The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland park reopened September 27, following an extended refurbishment. Many of the attraction’s scenes, rockwork and coral have been refreshed and repainted; as a result, guests will see a more colorful and vibrant underwater experience than ever before.

Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 27 th this year and restaurants at the Disneyland Resort are serving turkey along with other seasonal sides, from cranberry relish to pumpkin pie and maple bacon funnel cake. Special menus, will be at Carnation Café, Plaza Inn, the Blue Bayou, French Market, River Belle Terrace, Café Orleans, and Rancho del Zocalo, and special dessert items at Carnation Café, Village Haus Restaurant, River Belle Terrace and Café Orleans. At DCA the Thanksgiving menus are going to be at Ariel’s Grotto, Flo’s V-8 Café, and Wine Country Trattoria. Special desserts and treats will be at Boudin Bakery, Pacific Wharf Café, Mortimer’s Market, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, Wine Country Trattoria, Flo’s V-8 Café, and Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta. The restaurants in the Disney-owned hotels will also have special menus. For the table-service restaurants, Thanksgiving reservations are already being taken except for reservations for Disneyland Hotel dinner — will be available beginning October 8.

Finally, apparently the Disneyland’s Facilities department felt bad about us having so many more benches than WDW, and how much Tony dislikes that. Over the past couple of weeks, the Sleeping Beauty castle drawbridge has been rebuilt and some changes to the bridge leading up to it have been made. A rustic wooden fence and wrought iron bars have replaced the series of crisscrossing chains and shields. Along the bridge leading up to the drawbridge, workers have removed the seats in each of the six alcoves. Speculation is that the purpose of the changes is to prevent guests from slipping through the chains, or maybe to prevent falling over the bridge from atop the seats. Reports are coming in that Disneyland’s safety department has plans to add an eight-inch railing extension to the bridge. It’s worth noting that these supposed “safety improvements” are not in response to any known incident or inspections. Instead, they are reportedly voluntary to prevent what management may see as a liability.

Check out Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Walt Disney World is saying “Let It Go” to it’s Maelstrom ride at the Norway pavilion in EPCOT. What will be replacing it is a ride inspired by the ever-popular “Frozen” movie. The new attraction will take guests to the fictional land of Arendelle and recreate moments and music from the film. The pavilion will include an area where guests can meet the movie’s sister characters Anna and Elsa.

“Frozen” themes will also be a major part of holiday activities at the Magic Kingdom Park this year. Cinderella Castle will turn into an ice palace nightly starting in early November, and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will include appearances by Anna, Elsa and other “Frozen” characters including Kristoff and Olaf.

Randy Faith and the Magic Kingdom dot com Speaking of Halloween fun, ‘Mahaloween Luau’ is coming to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel on September 29. 100 guests per seating will get to enjoy this kooky seasonal party that includes beverages and eats, live music and insider info with Imagineers and Disney cast members. Guests will also receive a special edition glass available only at the event. (A note to collectors: the second edition of the Zombie souvenir glass will also be available for purchase at the event, before it is available to the public the next day.)

There are 4 hours to choose from : 3-4 p.m., [4:30]-5:30 p.m., 6-7 p.m. or [7:30]-8:30 p.m. The fun starts on the patio with appetizers and two drink tickets (beer, wine, Zombie Drink or Polynesian Punch). Then you’ll move inside for live entertainment and a Disney tiki presentation by Walt Disney Imagineering. You’ll also have a chance to meet some of Disney’s concept artists and other special guests. When the party ends, you’ll get a Jungle River Cruise Expedition Bag that includes a Trader Sam panama hat, a boxed special-edition “Mahaloween Luau” glass (with a dated stamp), a Trader Sam print on canvas, and a coupon good for 20 percent off at the adjacent Tangaroa Terrace. Guests also can purchase up to two additional second-edition Zombie souvenir glasses. Cost is $125 per person, including tax and tip. To reserve your spot, call 714-781-DINE

Into The Woods Coming to theaters Christmas Day 2014

September 17, 2014 By Tony Caselnova

into the woods

“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on several of the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy)—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (James Corden & Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch (Meryl Streep) who has put a curse on them. Rob Marshall, the acclaimed filmmaker behind the Academy Award®-winning musical “Chicago” and Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” directs the film, which is based on the Tony®-winning original musical by James Lapine, who also penned the screenplay, and legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, who provides the music and lyrics. Produced by Marshall, John DeLuca, “Wicked” producer Marc Platt and Callum McDougall, “Into the Woods” will be released in theaters Dec. 25, 2014.

Halloween Fun and More at Disneyland ~ By Disneyland Corespondent Randy Crane

September 14, 2014 By Tony Caselnova

News from Disneyland for September 14, 2014! Brought to you by Randy Crane at FaithandTheMagicKingdom.com

1)      As first reported by Disneyland Live, beginning last week, Disneyland debuted a modified FASTPASS system for the Frozen “Royal Reception” Meet & Greet at Disneyland. The standby line, which has routinely run anywhere from 2-4 hours, has been eliminated. Guests now obtain a return time, basically a FASTPASS, from Cast Members at the meet and greet. The Cast Member scans the guest’s admission ticket or annual passport and issues them a 20-minute return window. Distribution begins at park opening and concludes when that day’s supply has run out. If guests are unable to obtain a return ticket before that day’s supply is distributed then they will not be able to enter the Frozen “Royal Reception.” There is currently no standby line option available.

2)      A couple of new Halloween Time festivities have been announced on the Disney Parks Blog. This season, the new “Mystic Magic Show” will appear on the Jamboree stage, where you’ll be delighted by the juggling antics of Zester the Jester and astounded by incredible illusions and surprises from the carnival’s Master Magician. You may even get a glimpse of your future courtesy of Madame Beauchance, a comical gypsy fortune teller. All around the Halloween Carnival there’s fun for the whole family, with favorite Disney characters in Halloween costumes, Mickey’s Mask-Parade, amazing pumpkin carving demonstrations, carnival-style games and activities, Halloween merchandise, and yummy treats! And of course the “Conjure A Villain” sideshow tent. Dare to venture inside, and you may be asked to help cast a magic spell, summoning a Disney Villain from his or her realm to meet your group before returning them to worlds beyond.

3)      Speaking of Halloween fun, ‘Mahaloween Luau’ is coming to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel on September 29. 100 guests per seating will get to enjoy this kooky seasonal party that includes beverages and eats, live music and insider info with Imagineers and Disney cast members.
